Fall Gardens Blooming with Color

Even though autumn doesn't officially start for another few days, it certainly feels like it outside. The air is cool and crisp and the sun still feels warm - a perfect day for a fall festival! The teaching gardens at  Farmingdale State College  are always beautiful and lush. But the colors I saw at their annual fall festival were just stunning. Have a look:

Welcome!

I love gardening and gardens. And flowers, trees, shrubs, herbaceous and annual plants and yes, I even find the occasional weed or insect fascinating. I currently live in a rental home so I'm not able to create the lavish gardens of my dreams, but I do what I can in the flower boxes and containers that I have. A few months ago, I received my Associate Degree in Horticulture from Farmingdale State College in Farmingdale, NY. I graduated at the top of my class and am very proud of the work I did for this degree. Aside from gardening, I am a mommy to a spunky 4 1/2 year old son and a curious 1 1/2 year old daughter, and a wife to a tall, curly-haired, grateful dead-loving radiologist. With this blog, I hope to write about interesting gardens or garden features I've seen, flowers or trees worth noting or anything else that strikes my fancy. I welcome comments or suggestions.
